The collection contains a surgeon's certificate of exemption, Richmond, Va., 1863 January 1, for C.W. Beale of Orange County, Va., for deafness together with a note forwarding the exemption of Beale, signed by Early and John A. Coke, enrolling officer. With these is a receipt, 1905 December 26, J.B. and W.H. Wood, clothiers and furnishers of Charlottesville, Va., to J.T. Twyman.
